Burrowing Owls..

Mac the Moose....

Yesterday we took another impromptu visit to Moosejaw...
We had actually been planning to go to the lake,
but the weather wasn't great...
so instead we went to the
Sask. Burrowing Owl Interpretive Center
It was fun and Jeremy enjoyed the owls,
and the snake
Gracie LOVED the horse in the field next door...
Jeremy is also probably going to be in the paper
because they were having their grand opening,
and Jeremy was cute,
so the photographer kept taking pics of him...

George...(or Georgette...)
37 days old....

Jeremy's owls

Autumn kissing her owl...

Our day seemed a little cursed though...
Jeremy got REALLY mad at some little boy at the Owl center
because the boy pushed him..
When I asked Jeremy about it,
he got all red in the face (Just like daddy and grandpa..)
and spouted off more sentences at once then I have ever heard him use,
and finished it with "I don't want to talk about it..."
Then we realized we had forgotten Gracie's soother,
so we had to go buy another one...
Then it poured rain...
Oh...
and at Cresent park..
My husband threw some teens bike because the kids was riding it through
the wading pool around babies,
and had been asked to stop several times,
and got lippy...
(Honestly, it really wasn't as bad as it sounds...)

ok..well maybe it was...
Kendal seemed to enjoy it way too much....

At Cresent Park

uh...I think Jeremy enjoyed his ice cream.....

and then we went to the Chocolate Moose for ice cream...
and they only have a couple of tables..
so picture this.
I had a white shirt on.
There was a table full of people who you think would have been polite enough to move,
since they weren't eating...
instead of gawking at us
Kendal holding Gracie...
and me trying to look after Jeremy,
and the chocolate ice cream
I was BRILLIANT enough to get him...
(What was I thinking...)
so we had to try and feed Jeremy his ice cream
sitting on a bench..
by the end, Kendal was covered with chocolate ice cream...
and my white shirt wasn't white anymore...

Well...I guess every trip can't be perfect...
can it Mark??

We had fun anyways...coulda been worse...

Summer BBQs are the best...

We haven't had a lot of great weather this year,
so last weekend was the first BBQ we have had..
We had our friends Brenda and Jason over
and they brought their kids...
The weather was beautiful...
We had steaks (which my daughter Bree had given us a month before..)
and then ironically she showed up without warning...
(She must have smelled them cooking...!)

Gracie sleeping again....

Gracie is turning into Bree...
(She used to fall asleep in odd places...
on the dog..the cat, standing up against a garbage can in McDonalds,
sitting straight up at her own b-day party...
at the kitchen table....LOL...)
This is the second time in two days
I have caught my little one sleeping in odd places...
This time face down in the middle of the floor
while trying to crawl.....LOL!

The rest of the trip...

After the park we ended up where we always end up in Moose Jaw..
At the Chocolate Moose
They make a gelato that is to die for...
This is Jeremy enjoying his Cookies and Cream...

After that we went on Captain Jacks River Boat Tour.
We have done this every year since Jeremy was born...
and it is kind of exspensive,
but the kid loves it...

We weren't thinking though...
We did the evening tour,
and it is about an hour....
right at Gracie's normal bedtime..
and she had missed her nap that day...
so she was already tired..
so I had to spend the whole trip convincing her not to cry...
This picture was her one rare smile the whole hour...

Jeremy as usual...loved the trip..
Plus he got to sit up with Captain Jack..
who had lots of boys of his own...
so he was pretty impressed...

Captain Jack even let him sit at the steering wheel
when we were at the dock..
but we had to pry him away screaming so that
Captain Jack could drive the boat..LOL!

This is Jeremy with his umbrella...

Afterwards we went to a cook shack on the side of the river...
This is poor Gracie...exhausted..
enough beach for her for one day.

Jeremy on the other hand ran like a wild man...
This is a bunny he found, It even let him pet it...
and then he wanted to chase it
so bunny ran away...

Jeremy also decided to make this the first time ever
to tell me he had to go potty....
GREAT...no where near a bathroom...
He was desperate for about ten minutes..
and then of course he went..
but what can you do..

To Blog...or Not to Blog...

It has finally happened...
After three years of posting lots and lots of pics..
I am going to have to either delete old posts
or start paying if I want to keep using blogger...
I should just explain that when you put pics on blogger
they are automatically stored on
picassa web albums.
They give you a lot of space, but I post LOTS of pics
and it has taken three years to fill my space.
I am at an impasse and really don't know what to do..
I don't really want to delete old posts...
This is my families journal,
and it would be fun for the kids to look back on..
We kind of would like to keep blogging,
We do it for our extended family,
who aren't able to be with the kids,
and see what they look like day to day...
My only other option is to pay 20 dollars a year..
(forever)
What do you think?
What should I do?

Impromptu Trip...

Yesterday Kendal and I did something we haven't done in a while...
We were headed out to a lake...
and I said, "I feel like going to Moose Jaw"
Kendal..."Let's GO!"
and so instead of the lake...
We ended up here!

We have always loved visiting Moosejaw..
every time we go, we find new little things to love about it.
We were actually going to go the the Burrowing Owls Interpretive Center
But it was 1pm, so we decided to go to Cresent Park
(Where we have never been)
Find a spray pad
and have our lunch...

What we found...
Was this really cool Water pad/Toddler pool
and an amazing jewel of a park
We never knew exsisted!
We stayed all day!

Kendal and Jeremy had a blast..
(Translation-Jeremy ran and ran and ran and ran
and wore my hubby out...)
Gracie and I followed taking pictures..

I even took Gracie in the toddler pool,
which being adventure girl...
she thought was a blast...

After we went for a walk along the stream...
found a very cool ampitheater,
and a little waterfall...
It was worth visiting...we will be back!

Canada Day...

Canada Day was pronounced a success by my two year old son...
who informed me tonight during prayer time
that his favorite parts were running and running and running,

and that he likes his spiderman...
(It was a five dollar balloon,
but you would think we gave him the world...)

He also informed me that he liked his fries,
and the music was good too...LOL
Gracie definately seems to enjoy the blues..

The entire time we were listening, she was dancing in her seat...
We left around four and went to Dessart for ice cream...
(Also a success with the younger set...)
However this year we skipped the fire works,
as Kendal had to work tonight...
I didn't think I could manage two tired, ex
cited kids on my own
in a crowded park....

To all my fellow Canadians,
Hope you had a great day!
